Very little is currently known about the game, other than it will be done entirely in 3D, unlike its sprite-based predecessors, and feature full 3D movement.

The game was first announced by Sega during the 2023 The Game Awards ceremony in December 7, with a short teaser showing some gameplay.[1] During Sega's Management Meeting 2023 presentation on December 12 the game's main visual, showing the game's main heroes was revealed.[2]
